Plan ahead...We set up a phone appointment with you and/or the family member(s) we will be interviewing to gather and provide some preliminary details and questions ahead of time. Will there be photographs? Are there specific stories? Etc. Then, we schedule a day for the interview and creating the raw footage. We find it best to start the interview just after breakfast.

Minimal equipment...
By using natural lighting and sound, we capture the environment along with the stories. We have found this approach to be least intimidating and most conducive to story-telling.
Production...
Using the raw footage of the interview, photographs and family mementos, we maintain the charm of the "home movie" feel while putting the pieces together. We edit gently to preserve the intent of the stories and the tone and natural rhythm of their memories.
Delivery...
We deliver your special Lifetime History Videos to you enjoy and share with the current and future generations!
Rates are $400 for a one hour interview, production/editing and delivery of a DVD. Most clients desire a minimum of 3 hours of interview (on 3 DVDs) so they can capture childhood memories and stories of their ancestors (1st hour), courtship, marriage and/or relationships (2nd hour) and stories of their children and grandchildren, old photos of ancestors through present day, and family mementos (3rd hour).
NOTE: The end of the third hour includes an ethical will.
Travel expenses outside of Southern California are extra.
Additional DVD copies are $25 each including shipping and gift wrap.

ABOUT DEBBIE...
Debra S. Mann, MSW, founder of Lifetime History Videos, has enjoyed working with seniors since she was a teenager and got her Masters in Social Work at N.Y.U. over 30 years ago. She is a native New Yorker, lived in the Bay Area for over 20 years, and now resides in Oceanside, Northern San Diego County, CA.
